Our Founder – Prajakta Karekar

A talent specialist, Prajakta Karekar has over 17 years of rich work experience, spread across a wide spectrum of sectors and geographies (India & GCC). She has done her Masters in Industrial & Organizational Psychology and is trained in Rational-Emotive & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from the Albert Ellis Institute of New York.

Born in Mumbai, she shifted to the Gulf after marriage and returned to India in 2019 to help people with job opportunities and to spread the importance of Mental health in organizations she then started Convocare in the year 2019. She realised that India is a country with lots of opportunities and vibrant young talent looking to skill up for better opportunities.

Prajakta believed in providing support to people to become independent. She particularly wanted to support people from financially challenged backgrounds to help them skill up, get access to better opportunities and achieve their life goals. She registered an NGO to help and support the deserving youth of the country. ConvoDream Foundation was thus formed.

  • Received an award from the Inner Wheel Club of Andheri East for her philanthropic work.
  • A Moment of Pride – Dr. Windy Dryden, has mentored and coached Ms.Prajakta and presented his personal hat to acknowledge her efforts. Dr. Dryden is one of the leading practitioners and trainers in the UK in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
  • Certificate from Royal Hospital Oman for Volunteering as a “Play Therapist” at the Oncology Ward of the hospital.
  • Certificate of appreciation from “The Ras Al Hamra Recreation Center” by Petroleum Development of Oman (PDO).
  • Started her journey in the field of social work at the young age of 13, where she joined “Peoples for Animal” of Maneka Gandhi and raised charity for street dogs and helping injured street animals.
  • Volunteered teaching in the BMC school as a member of the National Service Scheme (NSS) from Bhavans College Chowpatty.
  • Assisted as a “Play Therapist” in the Oncology Paediatric Ward of Royal Hospital, Oman as a Volunteer through the Basma Group.
  • Supported the Omani Nationals in Oman by training them and grooming them for the job interviews.
  • Prajakta contributed immensely by volunteering to take responsibility for Karavaan. This is a section of PDO Club dedicated to providing fun and educational activities for young children. Her enthusiastic and innovative ideas, along with her patience, as well as her amiable and encouraging style of handling children, was appreciated by the multicultural Community.
  • During the COVID crises supported organizations in India by providing free Consultation and CVs to help them cope up with their losses.
  • Started free counselling services to help people deal with Covid 19 Crises.
  • Give career Guidance to the youth to help them build their future.
  • A proud member and current Club Correspondent (CC) of the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Andheri East. She continued her philanthropic work and supported various cause through CONVOCARE.
